On the 28th of November Gulf Rise’s beautiful Garden Pavilion came to life with more than 80 residents, prospects, staff and guests coming together for the official opening.
The Garden Pavilion adds to the lifestyle the residents enjoy and provides an environment to meet up with friends and hold special events in a beautiful setting. Village manager Jarrod Shearer said the pavilion provides the missing piece to the village for current residents.
Everyone had a wonderful time at the event, which saw Toppee Flat, a four-piece brass quartet, courtesy of Metlifecare’s partnership with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, play to the audience as they enjoyed drinks and canapés. It was also an opportunity for the residents to reflect on what brought them to Gulf Rise and on their first few weeks settling in.
Resident Pat Jeffreys says she has loved her time in Gulf Rise thus far and has already made friends with her new neighbours.
“When I walked around, I thought this ticks all the boxes. The villas are beautiful, and I don’t have to give up my lifestyle. Now living here, I enjoy walks to Red Beach and the other residents are all very friendly,” says Pat.
Pat’s fellow resident, Marilyn Morrow, adds, “We decided to move into the village because we came to an open home and fell in love with the villa that was on display. That was really it for us. We’d been in our house for 45 years and it was becoming a little bit of a burden.
“It was great timing for us and we’re loving it. We’re keeping very busy and loving exploring the area and meeting our new neighbours.”
The event attendees also got to take a peek at artist renders and site maps of the next stages of development.
